The setting is a simple one, but with many paths one can take. The Galactic Council makes all the big, galaxy wide decisions, with the Templar being the executors of their will. The UTF continues to prosper and thrive, colonizing planet after planet. The Atian race tries their best to avoid extinction, fighting Poachers and slavers to keep their women and men out of their greedy hands. And the Ulan continue to protect their secrets and technology, refusing to share their greater achievements and technology. And the Black Market has never been better for those who deal in the shadows- the slave market being particularly successful- as well as drug dealers, pirates, pimps and gangsters doing what they do best, flourishing in the deep reaches of space, the Atra Cluster especially, being where the UTF and the Galactic Council cannot reach. There are others of course, traveling merchants, private transporters, bounty hunters, etc who make their way through the galaxy doing what they can to survive.
